Pam Gelfond
Expertise
I’m a strategy and P&L leader with more than 15 years’ experience building, scaling, and transforming data-driven B2B software businesses sitting at the intersection of technology, financial services, and regulation.
My expertise sits in scaling the go-to-market function and prioritizing investment for the most attractive growth opportunities. A consistent theme in my work has been helping businesses move from complexity to focus and repeatability – whether through pricing and packaging, sales execution, product investment prioritization, inorganic investment, or organizational design.
Sectors
I have applied this operating playbook across multiple sectors, client types, and end-user profiles. The sectors I have worked in include financial information and fintech, marketing tech, IP information, energy information, and legal tech. Clients of these businesses include: investment banks, PE firms, commodity & energy trading firms, government entities, law firms, and corporations. This breadth has given me a strong appreciation for how different buying centers evaluate value, how purchasing decisions are made in regulated environments, and how products and services must be positioned to drive durable adoption.
Operations Experience
Most recently, I led a $60M, 125+ person business at LexisNexis, achieving record-breaking revenue growth while consistently meeting profit targets. I did this through a focus on innovation (bringing new products to market), operational effectiveness (optimizing pricing and resourcing), successfully integrating an acquisition, and collaborating cross-functionally (identifying opportunities to package and sell alongside other LexisNexis business segments and partner organizations). I consistently received best-in-class leadership ratings and am committed to supporting people while giving them autonomy to drive to results.
My Approach
I have a strong bias toward action. I don’t have an ego when it comes to rolling up my sleeves to get whatever needs to get done, done. I care about building strong teams and nurturing talent, and I pride myself on being approachable and transparent.
Education and Background
I earned my JD/MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Wharton Business School, and I have a B.S. in Physics from Yale University. I have held roles at Thomson Reuters, Clarivate Analytics, Genscape, and LexisNexis.
